Dindi Dance

Dindi is another folk dance of Maharashtra, which is performed on the Ekadshi day of the Hindu month of Kartik. The dance is based on Lord Krishna and his naughty, playful nature.

Performance—this dance is been performed to the beats of Dindi, a small drum. Dancers surround the musicians while performing the dance steps. This religious devotional dance describes the playful attitude of Lord Krishna. Dindi is a small drum, like a ‘Tamate’. The dancers dance to the rhythm by surrounding the musicians, providing the essential musical background.
