Giddha is a folk dance of Punjab that is generally performed by women. Origin of Giddha is an ancient ring dance which was once dominant in Punjab. Giddha displays feminine grace yet it is a very energetic dance form. Women mainly perform this dance on festivals and many social occasions.

Performance-  Giddha is a difficult dance form as the movement of legs are very fast. It is different from other Punjabi dance forms because the dance troupe does not essentially require Dhol (drum), instead they perform with rhythmic clapping whereas one lead women will recite some lyrics (boli) that will repeat by the whole group. The traditional dress during Giddha dance, is short female style shirt (choli) with ghagra or Punjabi salwar kamiz with embroidered -dupattas- and heavy jewellery.
