The Lathi dance of West Bengal, it is performed on Muharram, it confines within itself the feeling of remorse and anger, associated with this Muslim festival. During the first ten days of Muharram, the Lathi players display their art at several places.

Performance—this folk dance performs by the youth. They perform this folk dance with a playing of bamboo made sticks. Those sticks are given a name of Lathi to this folk dance. They started this folk dance from courtyard of their houses.
