Yakshagana Dance is a folk dance drama of coastal regions of Karnataka. This dance includes dance, drama, music and dialogue. It is generally performed for showcasing mythological epics like Ramayana, Mahabharata and stories from Puranas. The word Yakshagana means celestial music. This dance drama is performed throughout the night, usually after the winter crop has been reaped.
